Stitch N Bitch -The knitters Handbook gets a gold star from knitting-love.com!

When we first heard about this book we were intrigued by the name (I mean who hasn't sat down with their needles and done some griping?). Once we bought the book and started reading it we quickly realized it was much more than just a pretty name.

Debbie Stoller has written a knitting book in layman’s terms that combine humor and wit yet still manages to teach us what we need to know about basic knitting skills.

She has included everything from some knitting history, explanations on what supplies/tools you need, basic stitches to how to fix mistakes. And she has written in simple language that made us laugh out loud at times with humorous drawings that are easy to understand.

We have recommended this book to several new knitters as a self teaching guide.

Along with all this fabulous information there are terrific hip patterns to make. Our teenage sons' girlfriends loved the gifts we made them out of this book.

If you have a teenager who wants to learn to knit and you are not offended by the name (we weren't but some people might be) this book would be the perfect gift!
