One Skein Wonders (101 Yarn Shop Favorites)- our review

One Skein Wonders (101Yarn Shop Favorites) is a book we bought on a splurge while traveling around Oregon. We had convinced our spouses to drop us off at the local yarn shop just outside of Florence, OR (while they went to look at guy stuff at the local hardware store).
We were looking for instant gratification (you know when you want a small but spiffy project that doesn't take forever?) and the owner of the shop pointed us at One Skein Wonders.
What a great book! The table of contents is separated by yarn weight so it's easy to find a project for a certain yarn. We love this book for stash busting too because it has so many different types of projects to choose from. There is an abundance of scarves, hats, mittens, socks, a couple of shawls, baby sweaters, bags, booties and accessories. Something for everyone. Almost any of these patterns would make a great gift.
The instructions are clear and easy to read with a nice photo of the finished project (Both in contrast on the instruction page and a color photo in the middle of the book.

We used the pattern on page 11 to make this adorable sweater for a dear friend’s granddaughter Emma. Because we actually used super bulky "Smile" by Reynolds it actually took 1 1/2 skeins, but it was totally worth it (hey, it was stash right?) And talk about quick!
We highly recommend this book. It is a staple in our "used often" collection.
List price on this book is $18.95 US / $24.95 CAN
