How to knit and everything else you need to know to get started.

So you want to learn how to knit. Welcome! Here you will find all the information you need to start on your journey.

But beware! Knitting is addictive, as well as yarn (this is my personal addiction), books, needles, stitch holders and pretty much anything else that has to do with this fiber art. I have hooked many friends by teaching them this fun craft.

That said, it has been one of the most fulfilling passions in my life and has crept into virtually every corner of my world (both figuratively and literally)!

So let's get started! I have broken the basic instructions down into small bites to make them manageable. Start with the slip knot, then learn casting on, knit stitch, bind off and go from there.

Each step along the way is an accomplishment, celebrate it. If you make a mistake that’s ok, it's not brain surgery. Just back track to see where you got off track and retry. I can't tell you how many things I have pulled out and redone. But the end result is worth it.

To start you will need a skein of yarn, a set of needles and a pair of hands. After you have mastered the slip knot, cast on and knit stitch I have listed two super simple free patterns One scarf and one dishcloth . You choose which interests you most (I like to make stuff that will actually get used) and get knitting! We would love to hear about your knitting adventure so drop us a note!
