Crazy Aunt Purl is Drunk, Divorced and Covered in Cat Hair- Our review

Knitters' fiction as we have dubbed it (I'm sure this genre has a name, we just don't know what it is) has just recently made a big blip on our radar. We started seeing these books everywhere we went. So of course we had to check it out.
Crazy Aunt Purl's Drunk, Divorced & Covered in Cat Hair seemed like a good place to start.
This book is a chronicle of one woman’s journey through divorce, loss, loneliness and despair. Though it might sound like a real bummer Laurie Perry manages to convey her roller coaster ride with a twist of humor (and a lot of wine!). The story is funny and touching, without it ever coming close to the "I don't know why I am reading this" category.
Knitting is not the central theme of the storyline but is woven throughout as a healing tool, much as most of us experience in our real life.
There are patterns that she has mentioned in the story listed at the end of the book with lovely color pics after the patterns.
We really enjoyed this book. It was definitely a step outside our usual box of murder, mystery and romance and has inspired us to delve more deeply into this new area of writing.
List price of this book is $15.95 US and $19.95 CAN
