Charity knitting sites for animal causes

We were surprised to learn there are not very many charity knitting sites for animals. Being animal lovers ourselves our hope is that more people will get involved in making life better for the innocent creatures in our world.
Here is a list of the sites we have come a crossed so far. If you know of any other worthy sites for animals please drop us a note so we can add them. We would also like to hear from you or your group about how you are getting involved. Pictures are great too!
Angel Dogs, Inc.
Angel Dogs is an all volunteer organization. We are a small organization that rescues dogs from local animal shelters and other places.
Snuggle Project
The Snuggles Project was founded by our president and founder, Rae French, in 1996 because of her heartfelt need to do something for the innocent victims who find themselves in animal shelters without a bit of comfort to call their own. Picturing them in their hard cold cells made her heart ache to do something to help. So she got the idea of security blankets for shelter animals. The security blankets are called "Snuggles." Each animal would get a Snuggle to cuddle up with to feel warmth and comfort. Most shelter animals are kept in areas with stainless steel braces and hard plastic flooring or even bare concrete floors. The Snuggles would allow them to have a little reprieve from the coldness of the pen they are kept in.
Main Coon Rescue
Maine Coon Rescue is a nationwide 501c3 Non-Profit organization dedicated to rescuing Maine Coon and Maine Coon Mix cats. We are a network of volunteers who share one love-our beloved Maine Coons. We assist in assuring that these cats are placed in carefully screened forever-homes where they will spend the rest of their lives being spoiled as they deserve.
The Washington County Humane Society, Inc.
We are dedicated to providing humane care and treatment to all animals needing protection, returning lost animals to their owners, matching suitable homes with orphan animals, providing humane education to the public, and providing humane euthanasia when necessary.

You can also contact your local Humane Society or look in the phone book for local private animal rescues. These places always have a need for small blankets or pet beds to comfort animals in thier pens.
